A
Audio Only Participant: A participant in a videoconference that will call into the conference via a telephone, thus participating as an Audio Only Participant

Codec: A codec is a device or computer program capable of encoding and/or decoding a digital data stream or signal.
CVS: CVS stands for CalREN Video Services, the video service provide by CENIC for CCC, CSU and UC sites.  CVS and K12video.org joined forces in 2010 to create K20video.org.

Dashboard: The Dashboard is your home page at k20video.org.  It shows your current scheduled conferences and an archive of conferences you have scheduled.

H.239: An ITU standard for splitting the video bandwidth in a videoconference into a conferencing channel and a media channel. It enables participants to share their computer screens or some other video source with all conferees. In a multi-point conference the media channel is viewed by all participants, which is managed by the multi-point control unit (MCU).

ISDN: Integrated Services Digital Network An international standard for switched, digital dial-up telephone service for voice and data. Analog telephones and fax machines are used over ISDN lines, but their signals are converted into digital by an ISDN terminal adapter
ITU: International Telecommunication Union, Geneva, Switzerland, www.itu.ch, A telecommunications standards body that is under the auspices of the United Nations.
K
K12video.org: K12video.org is a web-based scheduling system designed specifically for the needs of California's K12 community.  In 2010, K12video.org joined with CVS to create a statewide videoconferencing infrastructure.
K20video.org: Statewide videoconference infrastructure serving all of California's public K20 community, i.e. CCC, CSU, K12 and UC.
M
MCU: Multipoint Control Unit) A device that is used to moderate a videoconference of three or more end points, an end point being one or more users in a single location. Also sometimes referred to as a "bridge".
